Driver killed after fleeing police, crashing into pizzeria

A bizarre motor vehicle accident up in Springdale, Pennsylvania left one person dead and a pizzeria damaged after the car crashed into it. The person who was driving the car allegedly was being pulled over on the suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. But the man fled the police, and he reached such a speed that the police had to abandon the chase. The car later crashed into a pizzeria, killing the driver. Thankfully no one else was hurt in the accident, as the restaurant was empty.

The driver’s blood alcohol level is unknown at this point, but his actions certainly reveal that he was doing something wrong. Fleeing the police is a damning fact. This story brings a couple of things to light about car accidents.

The first is that not every driver out there is courteous, or even a good driver. Negligent and reckless drivers like the one in this story could leave innocent people with very serious or even catastrophic injuries. When these drivers are caught and their irresponsible behavior can be proven, the victims of the accident should consider a personal injury lawsuit to hold the driver responsible.

The other factor here is the damaged restaurant in this story. It isn’t too common for car accidents to leave buildings damaged — but it can happen. This obviously brings up very complicated insurance claims, and it can even spawn civil litigation.
