After attack, dog in Vermont ordered to take behavioral training

An 11-year-old boy was attacked by a 10-month old puppy outside of the state of Pennsylvania recently. Thankfully, the boy didn't suffer any serious injuries in the attack, at least not by what is described in the source article. However, the story is notable for the way the state of Vermont, where the dog bite incident occurred, handles their dog bite cases.

When a dog attacks another person, the case is brought before a quasi-judicial hearing, and a decision is ultimately made about the dog. In this case, it was determined that the 10-month-old boxer puppy would be placed in behavioral training with the goal being to curb its aggressive tendencies.

It is an interesting approach to dog cases, one that can allow the dog to be reformed. It can also allow the dog owner to learn a thing or two about behavioral training and tendencies for their dog.

However, with that said, dog's can still run amok and be out of control, even if you fully train them and attempt to reform their behavior. Sometimes dogs that go through training after a dog bite incident end up doing the same thing that they were trained not to do.

For the victims of these cases, it doesn't matter what the circumstances are: because they are in pain and they want justice. Dog bite victims should consult with an experienced attorney to have their case fully evaluated.
