Woman remembers little about horrible dog attack

While the following story didn’t happen here in Pennsylvania, it just sheds light — yet again — on the terrible reality that victims of dog attacks must face after another person’s pet decides to go rogue. In this particular case, we look to New Jersey where a woman was simply trying to warn her neighbor’s about some rat poison in the neighborhood. When she approached the neighbor’s door and knocked, the neighbor opened the door slightly.

And that was the last thing the woman remembers before being mauled.

The neighbor’s dog burst through the slightly ajar door, and tackled the woman. She was bitten from head to toe and suffered a number of serious injuries. Her hip is cracked, so she now walks with a severe limp as shown in the source article’s video. At least two of her fingers are broken. And her entire body is covered in bites, gashes, cuts and bruises — many of which were centered around her head.

The dog is a 95-pound Argentinian Mastiff with a past. The woman says the dog killed some of her chickens previously. Now a judge will determine the dog’s fate. Currently quarantined, if the judge gives the order, the dog will be euthanized.

Victims of dog attacks suffer a lot. The owners of the dogs that attack have failed their pet, the victim, and themselves. They should be held accountable in these situations.
