Hit and run accident claims life of pedestrian

On Behalf of | Dec 15, 2017 | Motor Vehicle Accidents |

In a tragic case out of Allegheny County, a pedestrian is dead and the vehicle responsible for that person’s death has not yet been caught because the driver decided to flee the scene. The accident happened last night on Liberty Avenue, 15 minutes before 10 p.m. The police are still investigating the crash and have asked the public for help in identifying the fleeing the vehicle.

Other than that, there is very little information here that will enlighten you and help explain the unfortunate and fatal circumstances that happened here. Sadly, this is the usual story for a hit-and-run case: the driver flees and isn’t caught (though he or she may be caught with time) and the victim (or their loved ones) is left without justice.

Hit and run accidents are just infuriating stories. There is no satisfaction to be had, regardless of the outcome. Even when the driver is caught, there is still a sense that something isn’t right. That driver could have remained at the scene and provided crucial medical or emergency assistance to the victim. Instead, he or she selfishly ran away in an attempt to get away with their wrongdoing.

Whenever a car accident occurs, hit and run or not, the victims of the accident need to closely consider the circumstances of that wreck and take action when applicable. If another driver’s negligence or recklessness can be proven, then legal action should be considered.
