Man mauled, killed by group of pit bulls

Thanksgiving is supposed to be a day for family and friends, and giving thanks to all that you hold dear. But unfortunately, for one family in Philadelphia, Thanksgiving 2017 was a day when they lost one of their own because of a dog attack.

The incident in question lacks many details in the source article, so it isn’t clear yet what prompted the attack. But what we do know is that a group of four pit bulls viciously attacked a man. The police responded to the scene and eventually shot and killed one of the four dogs. The other three dogs fled after the police shot. The man who was attacked was quickly taken to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries there.

Again, it is not known why the dogs attacked in the first place. Maybe they felt threatened, or maybe they attacked in an unprovoked fashion. Whatever the cases, the owner, or owners, of these four pit bulls has a lot to answer for. Were the dogs properly secured or chained up prior to the attack? Or were they roaming freely? Did they show signs of aggression before, or had they been involved in any other violent incidents?

The owner of a dog takes on a lot of responsibility when they get their pet. If their pet lashes out or acts in a violent manner, the owner can be held liable by the victims of their pet’s actions.
